TRADITION
"Farming is a profession of hope" -Brian Brett
The founding of Old Hill Cidery was a joining of our love for food and drink and our devotion to keeping our farm relevant and sustainable for generations to come.
From Orchard-Blossom to Bottle, we have nurtured and carefully crafted more than ten ciders. Our cidermaking team continually experiments and often presents new, small-batch ciders that are available exclusively on the farm. We encourage you to visit often and follow our social media avenues to find the latest releases. There’s something for everyone.
You'll find our tasting room in the heart of our 60-acre, second-generation orchard. The experience will be an authentic one. You will be surrounded by the apple trees, which are the source of fruit used to make our Orchard-Style ciders.
Take note of the dramatically open interior space. The Showalter's built the timber-frame barn by using hand tools like mallets and chisels. Each octagonal, tapered peg holding the mortise and tenon joints together, was made on site. Check out the plan, quickly jotted on a cardboard box by Shannon years ago, and the photos of Mr. Showalter and his sons working together on the project.
Our tasting room team looks forward to pouring you a flight and sharing more about the history and modern cider-making practices that join forces to create our award-winning ciders.
